No Time Like SNOW TIME!

Jake and Elly were so excited to finally be able to get out and play in the snow. I wouldn't let them out yesterday cause it was snowing so bad.. k not so bad, but I just didn't want to deal with it all while the snow was still steadily coming down. I know I'm horrible. Anyway today as we were walking home from church, it was all I could do to get Jake home. Only the promise of getting him bundled up and headed out to roll in the snow could get him to move his little self toward the house. Well these pics are the result of that promise.

Ely was bending over and eating the snow, eventually she ended up on her tummy in the snow.

Baby Joys!

The other night at Mom and Dads Tucker was kickin and all the kids wanted to feel it. Poor Tiffany was bombarded with little hands and a few big ones, trying to get a feel!

Look closely at Elly's hand...
We asked her if she could feel the baby kick and she very excitedly reported yes... that's one powerful kick all the way through Aunt Chelles hand ha ha ha

My Little Indian

I got home the other night from YW the other night to Jake hiding under a chair with a blanket draped over it. I asked where he was and he promptly responded, "STOP IT!" Translation, I am doing something I know I'm not supposed to do so don't bother me cause I don't want to get in trouble yet. Well he gave himself yet another haircut, and colored himself with red permanent marker. He said he was an Indian. I asked him how he knew what an Indian looked like and he said on his mission an Indian came to him and told him all about Indians and what they looked like. Well, I wonder what kind of Indian came to visit him cause I've never seen one like him!

Halloween.. One of Our Favorite Holidays!

Jacob decided on our theme for Halloween costumes this year.. SUPERHEROS... He wanted to be Superman and Elly just had to be Super Girl, I just have to brag of course cause I am very proud of how the costumes turned out.. from scratch all of it.. without a pattern.. ok I'm getting off my soapbox now. We lucked out and got an excellent deal on the batman suit, man I have a hot hubby! Now what to do for mommy.. there is no way she is getting into any of those teeny tiny spandex outfits those heroines wear... so thanks to the creativity of my mother.. I was EDNA MODE.. costume designer for the Super Heros.. ha ha ha fitting I think. After the trunk or treat on Friday with my parents they were so kind as to treat us to a little Arctic Circle. Thanks also to my mom for the pics.. seeing as my camera is still in the shop.. Oh how I miss it. I long for Thursday.. :) Our Halloween was great a trip to our ward building and a few houses and then out with Doug and Erica. Now.. to start planning for next year ha ha ha!

Are You Ready?

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays and of course my kids practice dress up all year round, Are you ready? Do you know what you are going to be?

Just for Fun

I was looking through some pictures organizing and these pictures popped up, I had totally forgot about them and I don't think I had posted them. Elly was being silly and wanted to do a little photo shoot.. nothing special.. well except for my adorable little girl!

Bumps & Bathrooms

Ok so its only 1 bump and only 1 bathroom, but that's alright. First off.. THE BUMP! Jake was playing with a friend and they were running around.. he rounded a corner and slipped headfirst into the corner off the wall.. these pictures totally do not do this bump justice, but just for an idea....OUCH!

Next the Bathroom.. Its not completely finished, but it is pretty close and so I thought I'd put a pic up for all you to see one of the many reasons my life has been insane the past month. I wish I could find my before pictures, but for those of you who have been in this bathroom, you know how crazy this transform is! I want to thank everyone who helped us in any way shape or form through this.

Boots & Bikes

Ben had taken off his boots outside after a long day of work, well Elly thought it would be fun to try them on ha ha and try to walk around in them.. She ended up sideways and nearly doing the splits.
Elly really wants to ride bikes.. especially when they are all out together with the other kids. Well the other day while I was spray painting something I heard some giggles and turned around to see Jake had let Elly climb up on his bike and he was taking her for a ride. She loves it! Now they do it all the time.

Don't You Love It...

Don't you love it when you go to your baby appointment and they up the due date! By 10 days!! ha ha So we are 11 1/2 weeks yeah! It was so fun to get to see the baby today, the only thing that would have been better was to be able to get pictures. He was moving all around. Jake was so cute he said, "Mom you know what?" "What?" "I really love this baby" The doctor says everything is lookin good! Yeah!

I love my beautiful children!

Jake and Elly for the most part are best friends. They love to play together and Jakes favorite thing to play is Knights and Elly is his princess that he has to protect, its just so cute. Well one Sunday morning I still had my studio up in the livingroom and Jake and Elly decided they wanted to take pictures.. I was only able to get a few before they were bored, but I must say I have some beautiful children. After church they took a couple more.. Mostly Elly being a flower. More HERE.

Our Little Alien Brother

I can not express to you how excited Jake is that there is another baby on the way. He'll point to my tummy and tell people, "My little brothers in there!" I keep trying to tell him that it may be a girl and we will be happy with whatever we get. He gets so upset and demands it is a boy. Well, not only is he excited he has been asking lots of questions about how it grows and eats and all that fun stuff. Well I found a website that shows lots of pictures and as Jake and I were going through the information Jake says, "My baby brother looks like an alien!" Now how he even knows what "Aliens" looks like is beyond me, but I laughed and we kept learning more. Well now he comes in frequently and asks to see what his little alien brother looks like NOW. Which is why we posted the little counter thing on the side bar, so he could see what it looks like. Its been so much fun to relearn and help Jake learn all about what is going on. I can't believe how amazing this miracle is! Jake was very happy to discover that the baby now has fingers and toes instead of flippers ha ha ha.

Oh My Infomercial!

So the other night as I was sitting in the hall talking to Ben while he was getting ready for bed, Jake walked up to me and started kind of playing with my hair. He said, "Mom, your hair is so pretty." I was thankful for the compliment and as I started to say thanks he kept going.. "But it could be absolutely beautiful if you got the InStyler. Ben and I looked at each other and both said "WHAT?" Jake continued.."Mom it would make your hair so shiny and it wouldn't burn it because it rotates, I know you would really love it." I was trying to understand what was going on.. had someone snuck into my house and brainwashed my kid? We laughed a little and then we went to bed. Well a few days later Jake was laying down for his rest time watching his cartoon and next thing I know coming from the bedroom was an infomercial for the INSTYLER... they were advertising during a break from the kid show! WHAT! I called Ben and had him listen to it and it made us laugh even harder than before.. here I was trying to be so good about what my kids watch and they snuck in an infomercial on me ha ha ha. It does look like a pretty cool product.. but way too overpriced :) Maybe when we are filthy rich Jake!

Coupons to a 3 year old....

I'm so bummed I didn't get pictures, but it was funny none the less and I thought I would share. Today when we got home from the fam reunion we had a stack of newspapers in the driveway, so Jake brought them all in the house and opened one up, explaining he had to "COUPON" He is making little comments as he's going through the paper.. "$2.oo for shoes that's expensive!" "Oh that's nice." Then came my favorite, "OH MOM WE HIT THE JACKPOT!" He then preceded to cut out car ads and came to me to show me the car coupons he'd found! We could now afford these two cars because the coupons made them "SO CHEAP MOM!" Ha ha I wish it worked that way. I love my little guy!

Seeking Hit Man... Need Dog Wacked!

Ok not really we aren't happy about what happened, but we will let all the authorities handle the situation. So last night at about 6:45 Ben was in the shed, Jake was in the back with him like any normal evening. I was rinsing some dishes off when I hear our neighbors crazy dogs attacking our fence and a sound that came along that made my heart jump out of my chest.... My little Jakie screaming... it still makes me sick to my stomach and I won't be able to make it through this with out lots of emotions.. so luckily you can't hear me.. you just get to read. I looked out the window as Ben was dashing to the fence, one look at Jakie and he swooped him up in his arms and yelled to get the keys. I thought. I grabbed a half naked Elly ran out and almost lost what little was in my stomach when Ben arrived at the door. Jakes little arm had a gaping hole with what looked like ground beef oozing out of it. I regained my composure ran to the car strapped Elly in and we headed over to the neighbors to accost them about their horrible beast.....really to find out if they were all current on their shots. No one was home, realized we had no wallet on us so we ran back home.. I could barely breathe... My poor little boy was being so brave, not even crying.... I on the other hand.. was not handeling it well.. which must be the pregnant side of me, because usually I am the calm one in these situations :) We made it to insta-care and after waiting a few, having the entire waiting room trying to sneak peaks at Jakes gash and wincing, they wrapped up Jakes arm and told us we needed to go to Primary Childrens. After a frantic call to my mom and dad, and a drive that seemed like forever we got to the Hospital. There was a lot of waiting around, Mom and Dad came, Dad and Ben gave Jake a blessing, they took Elly home thanks goodness... every someone new came in the room Jake would ask, "Have you seen this? or Wanna check this out?" and point to his wound it made them all laugh.. come to think of it Jake had them laughing a lot. When the Docter finally came in and said he had to look at his bite Jake said.. oh thats ok.. so he started unwrapping it and Jake got his look on his face and said Hey, what are you doing? he again told him he needed to check out his dog bite and Jake responded again Oh, alright, thats OK. The nurse gave me a little wet towel so i could clean some of the blood of Jake and he was so funny cause he had a temporary tatoo on his forarm and as I was trying to wipe off the blood that had gotten on it he said, "Mom, just leave the blood, its cool, you'll wipe off my tatoo!" Finally they gave Jake an IV and he acted like he was going to die.. he was really scared of that... we had to hold him down so he wouldn't move, and being one of our super strong kids who don't like to be restrained, made himself bleed some more.. he was making the stuff buldge even more out of his arm it was awful! He kept yelling.. GET THAT OUT OF ME, GET THAT OUT OF ME NOW! Anyway, once they got the IV in we waited around some more.. Jake kept saying... Mom, lets just go home I'm fine. Before sedation the nurse came in to hook up the monitors to his chest and as she was putting them on Jake said.. "what are you doing, those are my nipples" When it came time to sedate him, I was quite emotional... they didn't fully sedate him.. just basically put him on a trip.. he did so well, and some nip and tucking later, he was all patched up. He did say a few funny things will under sedation.. "GUM!" "I am Jacob" and our favorite was when the head doctor came in to inspect things and they were talking over him Jake said, "BBBEEEE QUIET! When he started coming to, the first thing he said was Mom, I wanna go home. The nurse told him that he had to sit up and eat a popcicle first and he immediatly atttempted to sit up.. Try as he might the meds hadn't worn off enough and he was unsuccessful.. He was quite bothered that his body wasn't functioning like he wanted it to. While we were waiting for him to come out of sedation to the point they found it safe to leave it was pretty entertaining to talk to him. He told us that he had a dream that the doctors turned into wooden doctors, but they still talked and then when he woke up they were real again. He made a comment or two about needing to go to sleep so he could stay alive and be his REAL age... which he never revealed. He asked me again why we have hair.. I said mine just grew on my head and he said his grew up and then out the top of his head. Then he said Uncle Andy lost his hair.. and I asked where it went and he said it grew up and then out the top of his head.. and then fell out of his head and onto his arms and legs. Thats why he's so hairy... ha ha ha we were dying.. he seems to be quite fascinated with Andy and his hair/hairless situation ha ha. He kept trying to rip off the monitors cause they were making him lose his balance he said. He was a very good sharing boy when they asked him what kind of popcicle he wanted he requested a red AND an orange one, I asked him if he really needed two and he said, "I've been through so much, I need it" He overhears more than I realize ha ha ha.. but when they brought them in he kept asking Ben and I if we wanted any and shared his whole red popcicle with us.. all the while making funny remarks about how his orange popcicle was the best and it was so funny. Anyway, when they finally brought us discharge papers we were happy to be getting out. He refused to be carried out and brought lots of chuckles as our 3 year old drunk attempted (successfully I might add) to weave out of the hospital to the car. It was a long night and will be a long week and a half before stiches come out, but we are so blessed that things went as well as they did and that Jake wasn't hurt more. We are so grateful to everyone who helped us last night, getting phone numbers, and making late night visits to mean dogs houses! and of course tending Elly.. and the wonderful nurse who was great with Jakie and the skilled doctor who sutured him up. I hope we never have an experience like this again!
